The Property Ombudsman, Christopher Hamer, and his 40-strong team are to relocate to new offices with double their existing accommodation in Milford Street, Salisbury, on April 7.

The organisation has outgrown the offices it has occupied almost since it started in 1990 as the Ombudsman for Corporate Estate Agents.

Total membership now stands at over 8,000 firms operating 11,403 sales and 8,002 lettings offices across the UK.

As part of the moving exercise, the office’s main switchboard will close at  midday on April 6 and remain closed on April 7 and 8, although consumers and agents can still leave messages which the team will action. Receipt of emails and post will not be affected. The office and the main switchboard will reopen fully on April 11.
