A total of 26 lots went under the hammer at Network Auctions latest sale in central London.

A record number of 418 legal packs were downloaded beforehand and the sale was the first for which Network Auctions provided an online bidding facility.

Although well used, none of the online bids was successful.

The success rate was 74%, with notable sales at the auction including a commercial property in Leicester which had been available at £225,0000 on the open market. In the sale room it went for £252,000, with three bidders in the room and one telephone bidder from Germany.

Auction Guy Charrison said: “With lots for sale from all corners of England, Scotland and Wales it is important that we create the opportunity for potential buyers to bid by whatever method they choose. By adding online bidding we have improved the opportunities for our seller clients to sell and our buyer customers to buy. An undoubted success.”

Network Auctions operate across the UK with a network of partner estate agents. The next sale is set for July 3, again in central London.
