Each office in the Westcountry Team network has been given a new notebook computer, which combined with the latest version of Team’s software, will enable them to take instructions and carry out services in real-time while out and about.

The association’s bespoke multi-listing system has been completely re-written as a web-based software application.

With the new software, member agents can log in from anywhere, which allows them to work away from the office and also provides the opportunity for demonstration to clients and prospective clients of the Team property portal.

Member agents were given their new computers at this month’s Team conference in Exeter.

Steve Moir, chairman of Westcountry Team, said: “I am delighted to authorise this initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our members.

“The focus is on the internet at the moment, with a major shift in property marketing patterns. However, 28% of households in the South-West in 2009 didn’t have internet access and some of those people may struggle to understand not only the concept and the importance of the internet but also how it can play a considerable part in the sale of their home.

“Now, with our new system, we can take it to them.”
