Propertyfinder, which polled over 1,500 consumers, has found that the public's number one grouse with estate agents is that they don't respond quickly enough.
Its poll found that 98% of consumers expect agents to respond to their query within 48 hours, and over half expect a response within a day.
The poll did not explore why agents, hungry for every possible sales opportunity, have suddenly become phone-shy.
