Never let it be said that an estate agent does not have ideas by the gallon when it comes to attracting new instructions.

Step forward the grand master, Trevor Kent, taking his inspiration from the petrol shortage drama and jerry can crisis that has been gripping our nation’s forecourts.

He swiftly requisitioned a new vehicle to his company fleet, complete with personalised number plate, and distributed its picture with the following words:

‘LONG QUEUE OF VEHICLES OUTSIDE KENT HOUSE, GERRARDS CROSS

Due to unprecedented demand (four sales arranged already this week), Trevor Kent & Co have concerns over the delivery of replenishment stock for the Easter rush.

Consequently we have employed a radical new addition to our vehicle fleet at our office today.

It will be all hands to the pumps by the TK sales team for the next few days.

We would love your property in our tank too!’

Were you serious Mr Big T in your recent media interview when you said we should have sympathy for people who live in £2,000,000 properties that would be affected by the new stamp duty level?
