Well done to Tony Addinall, executive chairman of estate agency group Badgers and his team, who finished their marathon walk in aid of a children’s hospice – raising a staggering £18,000.

The Shooting Star CHASE children’s charity will receive the money after the four-day walk along the South-West Coastal Path National Trail was completed by 20 people.

Addinall said: “Despite what many people originally thought, this challenge was seriously tough. Some days we were walking for 12 hours, and it took its toll on everyone. We all had aches and pains, and the blisters came in their hundreds!

“It was, as always, absolutely worthwhile, especially when we were stopped along the way by a family who had sadly lost a child a few years back. They had benefited from the services of the Shooting Star and their youngest was still receiving bereavement counselling at the hospice. It was an emotional moment, but one that made us all realise that what we were doing really helps those in need.

“All there is to do now is organise our challenge for next year!”
