When one of estate agent Mullucks Wells’ suppliers had a serious motorbike accident, Hertfordshire air ambulance flew to the rescue.

Simon Stevens, who runs a print firm in Bishop’s Stortford, was recovering from cancer and on his way to hospital for a blood test when the smash happened.

He broke his back and ribs, and ruptured his aorta, spleen and liver. The Hertfordshire air ambulance crew saved his life and flew him to Westminster hospital where he spent two days in a coma.

Now, Mullucks Wells has presented a cheque for over £2,000 to the air ambulance – a cause which receives no government funding.

The firm invited fellow professionals, clients and contacts to its annual charity lunch, where guests were invited to pay a fixed fee for a two-course meal, with the difference going directly to the emergency medical service charity.

The lunch generated £2,140 and Daniel Galati, director of Mullucks Wells, said: “Simon is a long-standing client and his company, Symbian Print Intelligence, are our marketing partners.

“We are delighted to support a charity which is so close to him and which plays such an important role in Hertfordshire and Essex.”
