Last Friday, conveyancing firm myhomemove completed on a transaction every 74 seconds through its Premier Property Lawyers practice – a tally of nearly 300 transactions.
The firm’s total for July was 5% more than achieved during July 2007, and only 5% less than its record performance in August that year.
Stephen Hayter, myhomemove’s sales director, said the firm is having to recruit dozens more case handlers to cope with the workload.
An additional challenge is that the firm is in Leicester, which is a swine flu hotspot, which has meant staff having to cover for each other, often at short notice.

myhomemove.com released a statement back in september 07 claiming to have an average turn around time of just 52 days! over 4 weeks quicker than the national average of 81 days i for one would like to see the proof of that, we are currently at 105 days with myhomemove.com and counting! thats double there average and with no end in sight!! and incase anyone was wondering we have cash buyers and no onward chain ahead, now im not going to add anything here i cant prove but we have had issues with case handlers having to send documents twice followed with a FAX and stuff still not been recieved! well thats what we are led to believe is the truth,
if anyone wants to know more then im happy go on the record with some interesting details
case handlers = muppets
Jon, of course they were trading in 2007! They've been around since 2000/2001. These figures ARE impressive - our local 'High Street' solicitor couldn't cope with these volumes and fluctuations in the market. Keep up the good work MyHomeMove (and no, I do not work for them and I am not being paid to say this!!!).
Ive got one case running with them at the moment and im pulling my hair out, have sent 4 sets of sales letters out the them (email/fax/post) and they keep losing them. they have asked their client for copies of ID 3 times!! maybe its just me?!?!
Brian, never mind having a pop at PR its irrelevant if the public can't read properly
Were they trading in 2007? so not hard to beat that! Now if Live were up 5%, a proper business, that would be an achievement.
Brian - are you trying to forget a year? the twaddle compares 2009 with 2007 not 2008. Sounds quite good actually.
Think agents are stupid to be impressed with this twaddle? This year is miles better than last so this means a real time reduction, even Connels reckon the market is 40% better. Never mind guys better PR next time so don't report failure and make yourselves a laughing stock!
