A new national event for estate agents and letting agents is to feature a ‘must attend’ forum on auctions – aimed at any agent who wants to explore a new income channel.

Chaired by David Sandeman, founder and managing director of Essential Information Group, it will look at auction business opportunities for estate agents.

The auction scene has undergone some rapid change. Until recently, if an estate agent wanted to auction property they would have had to either set up their own auction department or give the property as a joint agent to another auction house.

However, new ways of selling at auction have evolved, and the forum will concentrate on some of these.

There will be presentations from Roger Lake of Auction House, Toby Limbrick of Network Auctions, James Cooke of I AM Sold Auctions, and David Harbour of The Auction Agents.

All four speakers will outline how their proposition works and give attendees the opportunity to see what method suits them best and ask questions about the auction process itself.

The forum, to be held on Thursday, April 19, will be followed by a debate, giving everyone the chance to ask questions and have their say.

The session will be one of many highlights of the new Property Business Show which opens its doors on April 19 and 20 at London’s ExCeL, where another ‘must’ will be the live property auction on the Friday (April 20). Auctioneer Graham Penny will be wielding the gavel, with around 100 residential lots expected.

The event features more free seminars and debates, all specifically aimed at agents, plus a busy exhibition and unrivalled networking opportunities. The event is completely free to attend, but anyone attending needs to register for the event first.
