Auction House has almost doubled both the number of lots sold and the amount of money raised in the space of a year.

Between January and August, the brand sold 1,087 properties, compared with 572 in the same period last year. During the same time, the company raised a total of £101.4m – up from £52.8m.

This means that Auction House passed its annual 1,000 sales milestone four months earlier than in 2010, when it took until the end of December to reach 1,091 sales.

The money raised this year already beats 2010’s end-of-year total of £99.6m. In addition, the company’s average success rate for this year now exceeds 82% – a full ten percentage points above last year, and well above the national average.

Auction House founding director Roger Lake, pictured, said: “These figures are yet another phenomenal result for the Auction House brand. It’s a sign that an increasing number of lots are being sold in the regions, rather than simply being sent to the big cities where they tend to sell at lower prices anyway.

“We’ve achieved record sales in counties such as Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria. We’ve also added five more salerooms to our network since last July – including Auction House London, which had an unbeaten 90% success rate at its very first sale. We are now well on course to exceed our target of selling 1,500 lots this calendar year.”

Auction House was founded in 2007 and partners with local estate agents, currently offering a total of 25 auction rooms across the UK.

All auction houses are currently doing well. By cutting out the over-valuing estate agents, it's by far the best place for buyers to get a realistic price.
