Those of you who have been following with interest the burgeoning foreclosures market in Florida, will be pleased to know that they could pick up a free house at the world’s first-ever Foreclosures Expo.

It will, of course, be a repossessed property, which could be better than winning two repossessed properties.

The Orlando Foreclosures Expo takes place on February 7 and 8 and the idea is that distressed home owners can either do a deal on the spot to get rid of the existing millstones around their necks, or find out how to stay in their home.

Lucky attendees who pay $10 entry get their names in a draw to win the free house, and can buy as many entry tickets as they like, according to Phil Peachey, the realtor who is behind the exhibition.

He isn’t, of course, promoting the prize as a foreclosed property, merely as one that is ‘bank owned’.

We tell you, it’s only a matter of time before some plucky estate agent and a consortium of nationalised banks do the same thing here …
