I became an estate agent because I was in recruitment, and was asked to find an agent for a local firm. I then sold myself to a small agency in my home town. 35 years later, I'm still here.

The biggest threat to our industry isThe constant driving down of fees by kamikaze agents.

My proudest moment in estate agency wasOpening our 5th office in a five year period - we've got 10 now.

My biggest mistake in estate agency isstill believing that all buyers will buy!

The most stressful part of my job isThe phrase'you have a duty of care'.from tenants.

If I could change one thing about estate agency it would beOur fee structure. No Sale, No fee actually penalises the clients who sell, and allows the others to get away scot free.

My one piece of advice for young agents isYou have two ears and one mouth, use them in that proportion.

The best thing about being an estate agent isVariety.
