New self-employed agency brand names high profile non executive director

Former Homesearch head of training and development Simon Gates has been appointed as a non executive director of Chris Buckler’s new self-employed agency brand The Estate Agency.

Gates will continue with his own consultancy but will help build The Estate Agency’s marketing strategy, digital nurture campaigns and collateral for associate.

Buckler said: “The core three areas of difference that The Estate Agency are focusing on are support, marketing and tech will allow us to help agents run profitable businesses.

“We are delighted to bring in Simon who many of our agents have worked with for a number of years. Simon’s reputation and genuine care for agent’s success mean the partnership was very easy for us to agree upon - culturally he’s a great fit

“Over the next few weeks we will be announcing some other non executive directors that will help us cement ourselves as a credible and forward thinking UK brokerage model, ready to rival the big boys”

Gates added: "I have been working with Chris over the past few years and he was a big supporter of mine when launching my own business earlier this year.

"I'm really looking forward to working closely with Chris and everyone at The Estate Agency in this exciting new chapter."

Buckler said The Estate Agency currently has 33 agents.

He is offering a reduced cap for the first 50 agents that join of £20,000, down from £30,000.

Under The Estate Agency’s model, agents take 70% of commission until they “cap” when they then retain 96%.

The Estate Agency also offers a revenue share model, but Buckler said you have to be experienced to join and they won’t be recruiting just to be able to boast about agent count.
