CTS restores systems following cyber incident

Legal infrastructure provider CTS has managed to restore its services after a cyber-attack halted its conveyancing tools and delayed transactions at the end of last year.

CTS revealed at the end of November that it was “urgently investigating” a cyberattack on its services that could impact property exchanges and completions.

Almost 100 conveyancers and law firms are said to have been affected.

It is believed that the brand has been targeted by a CitrixBleed bug that has hit other legal firms in recent months.

CTS embarked on a four-phase plan to restore services and its systems were back up and running by 22 December 2023.

CTS said in a statement: “Following the recent cyber incident which impacted a portion of the services we deliver to some of our clients, we can confirm that all CTS managed systems were restored by 22 December.

“Our clients have been kept updated throughout and we would like to thank them for their patience as we worked, with a team of experts, to resolve this matter as safely and efficiently as possible.”

No further information has been provided on the nature of the attack and if any changes have been made to prevent future situations.
