OnTheMarket aims to ‘demystify home moving’ with consumer podcast

OnTheMarket is to launch a six-part podcast series aimed at demystifying the home moving process for less experienced property seekers.

It comes as the portal and property services platform continues efforts to build awareness of its growing consumer offering.

Drawing on insights from a host of guest experts, the series aims to highlight the important role local estate agents, personal finance and legal specialists play in guiding movers through the potential pitfalls and stumbling blocks of the transaction process.

In addition, each episode breaks down frequently used industry jargon to further ensure consumers are equipped to make informed choices, regardless of their previous level of experience.

Hosted by OnTheMarket’s Natasha Afxentiou, the first episode is planned for release in August, with subsequent episodes published monthly as part of a wider campaign to engage and support serious property seekers.

Each episode features at least one OnTheMarket agent or developer, alongside a host of wider industry specialists, to provide invaluable information for would-be movers.

Series guests include Matthew Thompson, head of sales at Chestertons, Kia Commodore, a renowned public speaker and presenter of the Pennies to Pounds personal finance podcast, Alex Isidro, head of new homes and investments at Foxtons and Ed McCoy, group sales director at Persimmon Homes.

Jason Tebb, chief executive of OnTheMarket, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to call on such a varied group of experts to share valuable information for anyone feeling unsure about how to navigate the pitfalls that come with one of the biggest decisions they’ll ever have to make.

“Launching a consumer podcast is another great way to support serious property seekers outside of the practical tools we provide them as a portal.

“We’re keen to engage with consumers in meaningful ways and the podcast format allows us to reach a wider audience. It will be exciting to see the series develop and hear from the great contributors we have lined up.”
