Claims management company (CMC) Hydrogard Legal Services has launched a helpline to advise agents on issues that may disrupt their sales.
The firm has worked on cases surrounding poorly installed solar panels, air source heat pumps and spray foam insulation, all of which could cause a property sale to collapse if faults are spotted too far down the line.
It is advising agents to ask questions about these installations when appraising a property.
Hydrogard Legal Services has now launched a free helpline for agents on 08000 748494 to advise on the best course of action if issues are found.
The CMC said: “Hydrogard Legal Services is aware of the pressure on agents to describe properties accurately, provide a valuable service to sellers and buyers, and risk of losing sales and the associated costs.
“As a claims management company, Hydrogard Legal Services has dealt with hundreds of claims for mis-sold products.
“With the focus very much on green energy and homeowners looking to reduce the energy costs of their homes, this is opening the door to unscrupulous companies and salesmen, selling expensive products, which do not provide the benefit that consumers were sold.”
