Connells Group honours its top achievers

Connells Group held its annual management conference and awards ceremony recently at MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes where it unveiled a new award in honour of its former chairman.

The event saw more than 450 colleagues gather from across the group’s estate agency network - Connells, Countrywide and Sequence.

It concluded with its award ceremony, where more than 200 colleagues were rewarded for their continued excellence with an all-expenses-paid trip to La Manga scheduled for June.

Under the theme of “Shine”, the conference highlighted the achievements of the combined group with a trading update, followed by a number of engaging presentations showcasing key focuses and initiatives for the future, how colleagues will be supported to ‘shine’ in 2023 and an inspirational session from guest speaker Floyd Woodrow.

The event also saw the inaugural launch of the Stephen Shipperley Estate Agent of the Year Award – following the retirement of Connells Group chairman Stephen Shipperley at the end of 2022.

The accolade was awarded to Connells Wolverhampton senior local director Lee Cooke.

The Countrywide Newcomer of the Year Award was delivered to Bridgfords Marple branch negotiator Christopher Nay and the Michael O’Flaherty Award was given to Barnard Marcus Epsom branch negotiator Matt Turk.

David Plumtree, chief executive of estate agency at Connells Group, said:  “It was fantastic to bring so many of our colleagues together to share our successes and plans to grasp every opportunity in 2023.

“Our presentations were all geared towards how we can shine personally and professionally to make the most of this year, and how we can inspire each other to achieve excellent results.

“Well done to all those who were recognised at this event for their outstanding contribution in 2022, many of whom will be jetting off to La Manga on our top achievers trip.”
