Proptech firm launches auction hiring spree

Residential property auctioneer iamproperty is creating 18 new job opportunities for people to join the fast-growing world of auction, as consumer demand reaches record levels.

The proptech firm is on the lookout for associate auction Specialists to join its 500-plus strong team in early 2024.

The recruitment drive comes as auction sales continue to break records.

The recruits will play a fundamental role by managing relationships with iamproperty’s network of more than 6,000 partner agents.

They will support agents to win instructions, push through sales and give their clients a great service. The role will include managing the auction process, educating buyers and sellers on the process and working in partnership with agents to reach potential buyers.

Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK as iamproperty champions remote working, with the option to work from its headquarters in Gosforth, Newcastle. Applications are open now and the new cohort will start in January followed by a further cohort in March.

The candidates will initially take part in a two-week training programme. They will then work alongside an experienced team to help them progress to auction specialists, before working with their own agents, buyers, and sellers.

Jamie Cooke, co-founder of iamproperty, said: “We can’t wait to welcome our next cohort of associate auction Specialists in 2024. We’ve supported agents with an auction solution for more than 14 years and demand for auction has consistently grown, but its growth this year has been phenomenal. Our Partner Agents have just achieved their highest selling quarter to date, so it’s a really exciting time to be joining the team.”

Applicants must have previous sales experience, working in a fast paced, target driven environment.

It comes as Cooke revealed more information about the brand’s new private equity partner Perwyn.

Speaking on The Home Stretch podcast from The Guild of Property Professionals, Cooke said: “They have bought in on a minority stake to support the next phase of the growth of iamproperty, which is hugely exciting.

“They are a very ambitious firm and are very focussed on technology businesses, and technology forms a huge part of the iamproperty service offering. They really buy into what we are trying to do in terms of the transactional process for the UK.”
