Agents Do Charity - popping up for good causes

Welcome to this week’s Agents Do Charity, our chance to salute those who do so much to help others.

If your agency is doing a little charitable something which we should bring to the attention of the industry, please email press@estateagenttoday.co.uk - and we’ll do the rest!

Henigman: Back on Savile Row for the fourth year running, Pop-Up Crisis opens its doors once more from 4 December to 14 December, to reveal a treasure trove of unique, designer one-off pieces of womenswear, menswear, gifts and accessories, raising vital funds for Crisis, the national charity for people experiencing homelessness across Great Britain.

The charity fundraiser, Pop-Up Crisis, will be hosted by developer Henigman at the decommissioned West End Central police station at 27 Savile Row.

It will include a calendar of Christmas events including ‘shop their wardrobe’, an exclusive vignette of hand-picked items personally donated from celebrity friends of Crisis, including Kate Moss, Stormzy, David Gandy and Aisling Bea.

The team is hoping to smash the funds raised in previous years reaching a goal of £125,000, which would ensure the maximum contribution to the cause, staffing of the event is purely voluntary and costs are kept to a minimum.

Dean Main, chief executive of Henigman, said: “Following the success of last year, we are delighted to be once again partnering with charity Crisis through hosting the Christmas Crisis PopUp at the former West End Central Police Station at 27 Savile Row.

“Last year’s pop-up raised an incredible £110,000and the hope is that this year we will exceed this figure.”

Michael Graham:  Michael Graham Estate Agents has been fundraising for the Farm Safety Foundation and is now an official corporate sponsor of the farming charity, affectionately known as Yellow Wellies.

The charity aims to eliminate avoidable deaths and life-changing injuries on farms. They deliver farm safety training to young farmers in colleges and universities across the UK, and through the Young Farmers Clubs network. Nationally, their campaigns have included Farm Safety Week and Mind Your Head, which tackled the stigma around risk-taking and poor mental health.

Simon Hill, managing director of Michael Graham Estate Agents, said: “Across our region, many of our customers are farmers themselves, or know farming families in their community. We know that farmers have a hard time of it financially but I don’t think the dangers of the job are as widely appreciated.

“Farming has the poorest safety record of any occupation in the UK and Yellow Wellies their important message and hopefully change farmers’ lives for the better.”

Visitors to Michael Graham’s stand at the Bucks County Show and the Blakesley Show during the summer were able to make physical donations to Yellow Wellies, or donate via a scannable code.

Stephanie Berkeley, manager of the Farm Safety Foundation, added: “We are extremely grateful for the support of the whole team at Michael Graham Estate Agents and their amazing customers.

“As a small charity working throughout the UK, every donation matters to us, allowing us to continue our vital work. We very much look forward to working with the team at Michael Graham Estate Agents over the coming year and hearing more about their events and plans.”

Sheldon Bosley Knight:  Festive gifts are winging their way to children in other parts of the world who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas Day thanks to the efforts of property brand SBK.

Its Evesham office has spent the past few weeks collecting wrapped shoe boxes for the Operation Child, Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox appeal.

The annual charity event aims to spread Christmas cheer to children in 100 countries across the globe living in poverty.

The wrapped boxes are filled with toys, toiletries colouring books, pens and clothes such as hats, gloves and scarves, suitable for young children up to the age of 14.

It is the third year that the Evesham offices has been used as a drop off point and this year 47 boxes were filled and donated by the generous local community.

Lettings manager and organiser Josh Jones said: “When I joined SBK just over two years ago I was very keen for us to be involved in this wonderful charity.

“Each year, the community comes together, digs deep and is so generous. To get 47 boxes at a time when many people struggling with the cost of living crisis here in this area, is very humbling.”
