Agency software provider receives cybersecurity certification

Agency software provider Reapit has achieved ISO 27001 certification for information security management.

The certification means that Reapit has implemented one of the highest internationally recognised security frameworks in the world and demonstrates that it has necessary measures in place to protect customer data from cyber attacks.

Reapit warned that cybercrime is a growing risk for UK businesses and said estate agencies in particular are at increasing risk of attacks and breaches.

This could result in operational down-time and lost productivity as well as penalties and reputational damage.

In 2022, almost half of real estate organisations reported cybersecurity breaches or attacks, according to the Government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2022.

The Government claims that 46% of businesses have not acted in the past 12 months to identify cybersecurity risk

Mark Armstrong, group chief executive of Reapit, said: “Cybersecurity is vitally important for almost any business, particularly those businesses like estate agencies that manage large amounts of valuable customer data.

“Many businesses still do not have adequate cybersecurity measures in place to protect against hacks or data breaches, and in an increasingly uncertain world the risk is high that these threats will only continue to grow.

“We are uniquely positioned as a leading property technology supplier to offer estate agencies a robust security infrastructure through our award-winning platform that can provide peace of mind and operational security to agencies of all sizes.”
