Conveyancing network unveils conference details

Property expert Kate Faulkner has been announced as the host of this year’s Society of Licensed Conveyancers’ annual conference.

The event is being held at the Riverside Centre in Derby on 2 November and will feature presentations from industry representatives including Council for Licensed Conveyaners chairperson Dame Janet Paraskeva, Land Registry chief registrar Simon Hayes, Rightmove’s Miles Shipside and Rob Hailstone of Bold Legal Group.

There will also be breakout sessions on leasehold, energy performance certificates and setting up your own business, as well as a dinner after the event at the iPro Stadium in Derby.

The conference is free for SLC members and non-members can get a discounted rate until the end of September.

Simon Law, Chairperson of the Society said: “Following the success of last year's event, we are back at the Riverside Centre again and have a great line-up of speakers to talk about, amongst other things, the regulatory environment, on-going professional competency, case handling by the Legal Ombudsman and HMLR registrations.

“Other sessions will include stress in workplace, energy efficiency in homes and forthcoming legislation and National Conveyancing Week in 2023.

“We have a great line up of speakers and sponsors, and it promises to be an engaging, informative, and interactive CPD event.

“We would like to thank our sponsors, Howden, Armalytix, PEXA and Search Acumen. Without them we would not be able to organise such an event free of charge for our members.”
