New Scottish estate agency aims to be ‘go-to business’ for property matters

A new estate agency has been launched in the west of Scotland by property services firm Bowman Rebecchi.

The new business, named Bowman Rebecchi Estate Agents, will be led by Linda Swan, who joins the firm as sales director with an initial focus on residential sales throughout the west coast of Scotland.

She previously worked for Blair & Bryden where she was a senior estate agent and was a conveyancing paralegal for Greenock law firm Patten and Prentice before that.

Swan said: “I am very excited to have joined Bowman Rebecchi with the specific aim of growing its estate agency operation, across Inverclyde and the west of Scotland.

“Given the strength of the existing businesses, there are significant opportunities within residential sales for the Bowman Rebecchi group and I’m looking forward to supporting these.

“This is a fantastic new challenge for me and I’m excited to join as sales director of a progressive and ambitious team with a clear strategy to deliver on its current goals.”

The firm has already got off to a strong start with a new contract to oversee the sale of 22 new homes as part of The McPherson Development in Gourock.

The development is set to begin construction in Autumn 2022, with the initial phase of homes aiming to be ready for occupancy in Spring 2023.

Andrew Bowman, director of Bowman Rebecchi, aid: “Securing the McPherson Development helps to give the business a strong springboard to launch, and we are delighted to be working alongside Globe Homes to sell these properties.

“It is great to welcome a further private housing development to Inverclyde, where demand for new high-quality homes is high and we expect these properties to be very popular.

“This is a great example of the group collaborating, from architectural to estate agency, via the commercial arm of the business that supported the sale of the land. This is a solid model for us to grow and develop from for further clients.”

Aside from its extensive commercial property interests, Bowman Rebecchi acquired Castle Estates in 2021, in partnership with long-established Glasgow-headquartered Newton Lettings, whose managing director, Riccardo Giovanacci, will also play a key role in the new estate agency business.

He said: “We are delighted to hire Linda and welcome her to Bowman Rebecchi. She is the only person we spoke to about joining us as we believe her skills, knowledge, and passion are a great fit with our current operations.

“Given Bowman Rebecchi and Newton Letting’s experience and standing across the commercial and lettings sectors, we believe this is the right time to launch the estate agency business, which will enable us to deliver a wider range of property services to new and existing customers.

“As well as my knowledge of the lettings market, much of my background is in estate agency both in London and the west of Scotland, and I will be applying that experience in supporting Linda and the business.”

The new agency will have branches in Gourock and Glasgow, to further boost the performance and growth of the overall group, which includes Rebecchi Architectural and A&M Advertising.

Marco Rebecchi, a director at the business, added: “The past two years have been a hugely positive period for the businesses, and our pipeline continues to be strong.

“With the launch of the estate agency, we are aiming to be the go-to business for all property-related matters throughout the region and welcome a broader range of clients.

“Our local presence and knowledge of the market, combined with our one-stop-shop approach, ensures we are in a strong position to achieve our objectives.”
