Hamptons schedules Boxing Day TV ad campaign launch

There may be plenty of debate about going live with listings on Boxing Day but Hamptons has chosen the national holiday to release its latest television advert.

The new advert will run in 30 and 60 second versions, taking the viewer on a journey of discovery through the eyes of a toddler.

Working with the production agency Stillpool and director Ed McCulloch, the advert taps into the wonder we experience when moving into the home of our dreams.

The viewer lives with the child in these moments, as the toddler roams from room to room, whilst his parents unpack boxes and settle into their new home.

A 60-second advert will be broadcast for the first time on Sky Adsmart on 26 December, and the 30-second version will premiere on Channel 4 during Jumanji on the 28 December.

Both versions will continue to air across the festive season and into the New Year on Channel 4, Sky and Virgin channels respectively.

The campaign will spread across print, social media, mobile, and is the first time that Hamptons will advertise digitally across a number of different podcasts including programmes on BBC Sounds, The Guardian and The Economist.

Lesley Cairns, managing director at Hamptons, said: “We have created an ad which we hope will strike a chord with viewers. Grounded in real human emotion, it aims to capture the feelings of awe and excitement that is felt that first time you lay eyes on your future home.

“What better way to capture this emotion than through the eyes of a child: a visual representation of their powerful connection to wonder. It’s a feeling that most can relate to; be it about your first rental, your dream home, or that property that provides you sanctuary.”

McCulloch added: “This imaginative story taps into that powerful connection of the wonder we experience when finding the home of our dreams, while at the same time reminding the audience of the instrumental role that Hamptons plays in achieving our dreams. It was an absolute pleasure bringing these beautiful moments to life. Each one is filled with warmth and humanity, it’s something we can watch again and again.”
