Gove’s ministerial team confirmed with new Housing Minister

MP for South East Cambridgeshire Lucy Frazer has been confirmed as the latest Housing Minister as part of a department reshuffle.

Michael Gove returned as Levelling Up and Housing Secretary when Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister last month but other ministerial roles were still being confirmed.

The homepage of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) now confirms the other ministers working with Gove and their briefs.

Frazer was confirmed as a DLUHC minister at the end of October.

Lee Rowley, who was named Housing Minister in September, was also reappointed to the department but ministerial responsibilities have only just been confirmed.

Rowley has now been named as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Local Government and Building Safety, while Frazer is Minister for Housing and Planning.

Felicity Buchan has been named Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Housing and Homelessness.

Frazer said: “Building the homes we need and helping more people into home ownership are rightly important priorities for the Government.

“Delighted to be given the opportunity to contribute to this work as Minister for Housing and Planning.”

She also thanked Rowley for his work in the role, although it is unclear what he achieved after just 48 days in the role.

Frazer becomes the ninth Housing Minister in the past five years.
