Former estate agent aims to tackle industry sales backlog

A former estate agent has launched a white-labelled sales progression tool for the industry after his own experiences of purchasing a property.

Elliot Jacobs, who has worked as a sales manager for Northwood and Rooftop Estate Agents, has launched Sales Progressors.

It provides a white-labelled sales progression service for agents, including anti-money laundering, training and conveyancing.

The idea is that an agent can outsource management and monitoring of the chain.

The Sales Progressors team will also highlight other opportunities for agents from within the chain such as for mortgage referrals or if a landlord has other properties to sell.

Speaking in an exclusive video interview with Estate Agent Today’s Lee Dahill, Jacobs said:  “Sales progression is always important.

“We were buying and selling our own house 12 months ago and thought we could change things to make it better.

“There is no need for the long timescales as long as you have spoken to the buyers, conveyancers and everyone in the chain.

“We want to see progression every couple of days and  effective communication with everyone is part of the process.”

He said the progress of a transaction should be seen as a sales tool rather than an administration task, adding: “If the consumer is happy, they will then go on to tell everyone about it.”

“There are so many instances where we have spotted opportunities for agents such as for mortgage appointments or landlords looking for a lettings agent.
