Can Ewe believe it? Some EweMove franchisees have no agency experience

Another eight EweMove franchisees have been appointed in just one month - but controversially, some of them have no estate agency experience at all.

EweMove, owned by The Property Franchise Group, was originally launched in 2013 and claims to have been the UK’s first hybrid agency.

It says it now has 126 ‘branches’ across the UK after new additions at Kirkintilloch in East Dunbartonshire, Otley & Guiseley, Marlow & Maidenhead, Southgate in London, Luton Central, Hebden Bridge, Wakefield and Watford North.

The company says the new franchisees boast diverse backgrounds.

The Southgate and Luton Central territories have been launched by experienced estate agents while the Wakefield area has been bought by an existing EweMove franchisee to expand a service area - but some others have no prior estate agency experience.

Even so, the firm insists the newcomers have “the skills … [that] are absolutely vital to becoming a successful EweMove franchisee.”

“We’re thrilled to have welcomed our brand new franchisees to the flock. As an agency proud to do things differently, we’ve always been open to welcoming on board people who bring the right attitude, drive, and commitment to service, regardless of whether they bring specific estate agency experience to the role” explains Nick Neill, managing director and self-styled ‘Head Shepherd’ of EweMove.

“As a result we’re proud to benefit from a hugely diverse range of people who each bring with them different expertise and experience, but who all ultimately have the same passion for delivering unrivalled service.”

The Property Franchise Group is expected to issue its interim figures to shareholders later this week.
