A housing association has launched its own online agency which offers to sell vendors' homes for £275.

Capsel Homes, based in Mamhilad, is part of Monmouthshire Housing Association and will cover the whole of the South East Wales region.

The online package includes a Rightmove listing, social media listing, For Sale board and access to a dashboard.

Vendors can then opt to pay for additional extras, including a valuation and property details, floor plans, accompanied viewings and an Energy Performance Certificate.

The agency also offers a full agency package at a fixed price of £1,500, which includes a much wider range of services including photography, offer negotiation and sales progression.

Due to its links with Monmouthshire Housing Association, Capsel Homes will donate any profits towards building new affordable homes in South Wales.

The firm also offers a lettings service, which includes lettings only at £300 and full management with a 10% monthly fee.

On Rightmove, the agency currently has 21 properties for sale and just one property available to rent.

"The way people buy and sell their homes has changed dramatically over the last few years," Elizabeth Jones, head of Capsel Homes, told the Free Press website.

"The rise of online estate agencies has enabled people to take far more control of the sales process. We want to give people a genuine choice in the way they sell their home and pick the elements they need to make the process as easy as possible."

Last week, Barnet Council launched a similar initiative, focusing solely on lettings.
