Property Jobs Today - the latest moves across our industry...

Hello and welcome to this week’s Property Jobs Today, our regular Monday look at key moves inside our industry.

Everyone here simply emailed us at press@estateagenttoday.co.uk - please do the same if you want to share news about people on the move in your company, too.

We start off this week with news of Jason Lee who has joined SDL Auctions to expand its Auction Partners network, which launched in 2016.

“Estate agents now see auctions as an extremely valuable revenue stream, and there is a real appetite for our SDL Auctions Partners service. In a challenging market, it can really give their business a competitive edge. We’ve now moved away from the idea that the only homes listed at auction are where the vendor is desperate to sell” says Jason.

In his new role, he will oversee a team of new recruits tasked with developing the SDL Auction Partners network.

Meanwhile over at Leaders Romans, a group that seems to have a new acquisition almost weekly, there’s news of a new role for Richard Prescott.

Until the autumn Richard owned Prescott Hall, an agency snapped up by Leaders, but now he’s about to become manager at the new Leaders office in Northwich.

Now to London where, as we reported last week, the Hogarth Property Group has completed the full acquisition of independent west London agency Orchards of London.

That in turn means Joseph Murphy, who set up Orchards in 2009, is leaving the firm.

“The last nine years have been an exciting time, and it has been fantastic working with ... the team at Orchards of London. I am very proud of the growth and success we have achieved and in the team of people who have contributed to the company over the years. I am now entering an exciting phase in my personal life and have other interests that I wish to pursue.”

TV property pundit Phil Spencer, who started off in the industry running the early version of buying Agency Garrington, is going back to the business of helping would-be buyers.

He’s set up an advice and information website for buyers, called MoveIQ. This will offer a pack for £15, including a property’s title register, a valuation by Zoopla, boundary plans, property photos, details of recent local planning applications plus more standard fare such as local crime rates, amenities and schools.

“I want to arm anyone moving with the tools, knowledge and confidence to secure the right property and get the best deal possible” says Phil.

That’s it for this week - please keep us in the loop on your next move, and thank you for reading. Until next time...
