Countrywide to use bloggers and YouTube 'stars' for marketing

A Countrywide agency is launching a publicity campaign involving well-known social media bloggers and YouTube ‘stars’ known as vloggers.

The publicity campaign, called Styled To Sell, is the first to involve figures who are well-known in the social media world; ironically the brand selected for this distinctly 21st century campaign is Bairstow Eves, an agency with a 100 year heritage and which now has over 100 offices across the country.

The campaign, which starts this week, sees Bairstow Eves team up with five well known blogger and vlogger ‘influencers’ in the lifestyle and interiors sectors, with an individual social media following between 6,000 and 60,000.

As part of the campaign, the influencers filmed a Bairstow Eves branded short video with their top tips on styling a particular room in the house to showcase the property in its best light.

The bloggers and vloggers are Amelia from xAmeliax, Jane Taylor from Maflingo, Sian Thomas from Rebel Angel, Ali Clifford from Incredibusy and Maxine Brady from We Love Home Blog.

Throughout this month and next the videos will be launched and promoted through Bairstow Eves’ YouTube channel and also through its website as well as each of the influencers’ own social media channels.

“Creating useful and engaging content for our clients is a core part of our marketing strategy and as we execute our marketing strategy for the remainder of the year and plan for 2018, influencers will play an increasingly important role in reaching our target audiences” explains Countrywide’s marketing director, Jeremy Briggs.

“At Countrywide, we intend to use influencer marketing to provide fresh and interesting content to new and existing audiences in order to position Countrywide brands as the first choice for all of our clients’ property requirements” he adds.

    They really have no idea!

How about instead of wasting the hard earned money the branches have made on silly promo ideas that will not work you actually help them and support them. Why not actually invest in admin support instead of slashing it every week?

And this is going to make 'all the difference' is it Ali???
    So: 'it's retail' isn't it!
Then it's 'hybrid' using existing brands!
    Now it's YouTube/blogging/vlogging!
Actually it's just ' blagging' and it's not fooling anyone.

Blagging, is exactly the right terminology! Whilst the idea has legs, the very idea of trying to make Bairstow Eves cool is laughable. Will they ask the vloggers to wear white socks, shiny suits and an unhealthy amount of hair cosmetics?!?! The target audience will probably love the videos, however, I thought Jeremy would know in this current market his target audience are 40plus not 18 -21. Maybe it's something for the employees to watch and aspire to buy with their apprentice wages and use as a training video to understand what owning a house is like. In fact actually, the story is all wrong, it's a series of training videos. It can't be for a market who need 10 times income to get on the housing ladder. So very sad for thise great people still there yet very entertaining for the industry. Jeremy, next time do yourself a favour, don't invite Alison to your brainstorming!

Bloggers-isn't this all aimed at the youth market to 35 year demographic-whats the average age of a house buyer these days ?

It is the the further dumbing down of the service that a good agent should provide. A few 'sound bites' and the belief that selling a home is akin to 'flogging off' some unwanted item on ebay/any web portal used for getting rid of such things. They have properly lost the plot !!!!!!!

    Great entertainment though!

Remember there is no bad ideas! Someone in meeting room came up with an idea about tornado filled with sharks and here we go, we have a movie Sharkanado!

Very appropriate description of the inner workings at Countrywide!

what on earth do they think they are doing - desperation comes to mind

Great to see all the reactions both positive and negative to the idea - The team read them all and are always interested in feedback.
