A developer is making an offer to buyers of selected units at his new scheme in Slough - buy now but get your deposit back if the UK votes to leave the EU at the end of this month.
Galliard Homes is tomorrow afternoon at 5pm launching Skyline Apartments, a scheme of flats on the High Street at Slough.
Advertisements for the development have the usual attractions such as emphasising it is just an 11 minute walk from Slough town centre and Crossrail, and the pledge of it being only 17 minutes by rail from Paddington and 32 minutes from Bond Street in the West End, as well as telling buyers they could “get on the ladder and in to luxury living from £199,995.”
But Galliard is also saying that those putting down a £2,000 deposit and exchanging contracts during the three-day sales release period - starting tomorrow afternoon - will be able to get their deposits back.
“All buyers exchanging contracts during the three day sales release will automatically have 10 working days from the Brexit vote announcement on June 24 to notify Galliard of their intent to rescind contracts” says the advertisement.
Galliard typically aims its properties at investment buyers.
