Agents Do Charity - on Bank Holiday weekend

It’s the long Bank Holiday weekend and we’re here again to publicise the side of British estate agency that rarely presents itself to the public - the fund-raising, warm-hearted work for charity.

We’ll gladly publicise your efforts if you let us know on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk. In the meantime, best foot forward for this week’s heroic fund-raisers...

Friends of the Royal Marsden: This year’s drinks party marked Martin & Co Chelsea’s first involvement with the Friends of Royal Marsden - sponsoring the cocktails. Michael van de Vyver, director of Martin & Co, says: “Martin & Co have chosen to support the charity for two reasons. Firstly, our links to the public sector, we are in a prime position to get the message across to the general public. Secondly, the Friends of The Royal Marsden is a charity we can envision ourselves supporting for a long time, which is why we have made a donation to them – this is charity we believe in, and we will believe in it a long way into the future.”

Wessex Heartbeat: Mark Dryhurst from estate agency Goadsby has collected his final sponsorship after running in the London Marathon for the Southampton-based Wessex Heartbeat charity. Mark has raised £2,656 - contributing to the £22,640 raised by Goadsby for the charity since 2013.  “My great thanks to everyone at Goadsby, and my family and friends for their tremendous support. Wessex Heartbeat has helped so many local people and I was pleased to be able raise much needed funds for them while also achieving my goal of completing the marathon” says Mark.

Great Ormond Street Hospital: F&C REIT is inviting people to its One Great Day event for Great Ormond Street Hospital at central London’s St Christopher’s Place on June 4. The major fund raising activity will be the virtual cycle race, which is running throughout the day and into the evening. F&C REIT would like to invite you to submit teams of three people to cycle two miles – the distance from St Christopher’s Place to Great Ormond Street Hospital – on three static bikes. Each team is requested to pay a minimum donation of £10 per person, and details from cwilson@theproffice.com

Wooden Spoon: Scottish lettings portal Citylets has been catapulted to the top of the world, by sponsoring participants of the Artic Rugby Challenge, organised by children’s charity Wooden Spoon. The challenge was undertaken by a group of ex professional rugby players, including Tim Stimpson, Ollie Phillips and referee Lee Mears and was an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most northerly game of rugby in history ever played. A Citylets flag was planted at the North Pole.

Epsom Primary School: Aston Mead estate agents has provided sports kit to Epsom Primary School, as well as backing a careers day and a charity car wash. Deputy head Michelle Pollard says: “It’s fantastic to have found a partner whose focus is on building relationships with our community and helping to inspire and lead our pupils.”

Knight Bishop: Estate agency Knight Bishop is fundraising for a variety of causes - here is its Just Giving page.
