Each Friday on EAT we showcase the great work done by agents for charities - it's an unsung side of estate agency that does not get a look in on most property websites, let alone amongst the wider public.

Now one particular charity has approached us to ask for a platform to appeal directly to agents. We're delighted to give Hailey Acton Deboick an opportunity to explain what Teenage Cancer Trust is already doing with one agent, and could do with others.

Your teenage and young adult years should be some of the most exciting of your life with unlimited possibilities. However, every day in the UK, seven young people aged 13 to 24 hear the devastating news they have cancer.

This equates to over 500 in London alone, and we currently reach 280 of these newly diagnosed young people to offer them access to our services.

But we need you and your colleagues to help us move towards our ambitious goal - to give EVERY young person the best chance of a positive outcome by offering them the choice to access our units and wider services.

Without Teenage Cancer Trust, these young people would face a series of unimaginable challenges - rare and aggressive cancers, late and misdiagnosis of symptoms, low survival rates and virtually no specialist support.

A charity partnership will help the charity greatly but it's also great for team bonding, morale of staff and a great sense of achievement for your employees.

We have just finished a really successful partnership with Greene & Co after raising an incredible £35,000. As well as the money raised, it increased the profile of the estate agents and the charity in the local area and is a great way to show your customers a philanthropic side to your company and sets you aside.

If you already have a charity of the year programme, please think about Teenage Cancer Trust, if not, do think about the benefits of having one!
