The Conveyancing Association is the latest part of the house-moving industry to call on experts to identify obstacles that hinder the home-buying process.

As reported on Estate Agent Today a month ago, the new Veyo conveyancing portal set the ball rolling, engaging in a consultation process with agents and others in a bid to get a transparent and faster-moving conveyancing process.

Now the CA has issued two surveys, including questions asking people to rank what aspects of the home-buying process create problems, and what they would change to prevent these from happening again.

We believe that by gathering the relevant data, we will be able to identify where both conveyancers and estate agents feel they are being held up during a transaction.

A well-defined problem is halfway to being solved: once we have collated this information we will ask the whole industry to join with us to tackle the issues being experienced and hence make the home-buying process a much more positive one for all involved - not least our clients says Eddie Goldsmith, association chairman.
