UK households perceive that the value of their home has gone down again this month.

Exceptions are in London and the South-East.

But, according to the Knight Frank/ Markit House Price Sentiment Index out today, every region bar Wales expects the value of their home to rise next year.

The survey was of 1,500 households across the UK.

Separately, property search engine Home has reported that there are fewer properties coming on to the market than this time a year ago, .

It says that year-on-year, the number of new listings is 3.3% down.

However, asking prices are up 2.5% on an annual basis, although up by only 0.2% over the last month.

The average UK asking price is now £232,000, it says.

    Tell me over what time period this is downward trend?

    I had an idiot vendor who said that vales had changed by x% and when I asked him the same question he could not comprehend what I meant by from when to when.

    He was a local councillor as well! Says it all really.
