A London independent estate agent, Thomson Currie, has been acquired by Spicerhaart.

Thomson Currie, which opened its offices on Upper Street in Islington in the mid-1980s and handles both sales and lettings, will now be rebranded to Felicity J Lord.

All 11 staff have been retained by Spicerhaart.

Ian Currie, who founded Thomson Currie, is to develop a new-homes business.

Paul Smith, CEO of the Spicerhaart Group, said: “The acquisition confirms our position as one of the most active estate agency groups in London.”

This would be the same Thomson Currie that was bought for a huge sum by Humberts a few years ago and then, when Humberts had a cash flow issue, sold it back to the owner for a pittance just six months later. Nice deal if you can get it ! Good luck to the Iain, at this rate he will probably have it back by mid 2012..........
