Thames Valley agent Davis Tate has acquired an office owned by Countrywide’s Buckell & Ballard.

It is the ninth branch for Davis Tate, which also has five ‘personal’ estate agents who run mini-franchises from their homes.

The new office, in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, will be run by a franchisee on the estate agency side, and on the lettings side by a Davis Tate team.

Stewart Simpson, 32, who was with Romans, is the owner of the sales franchise.

The Abingdon office is using a joint Davis Tate and Buckell & Ballard logo to start with, but will eventually rebrand to just Davis Tate.

Buckell & Ballard, formerly part of Lloyds Black Horse, is an old name and was at one time one of the dominant players in the Oxfordshire property market.

But last month, Countrywide rebranded four branches, in Headington, Cowley, Wallingford and Bicester to Taylors. Two Oxford branches are still using the Buckell & Ballard name.
