James Hawkesford, 33, has taken over as managing director of the well-known Warwickshire firm of chartered surveyors and estate agents founded by his late father .

Malcolm Hawkesford & Company was started in 1991 by Malcolm Hawkesford who died suddenly in July at 58. He had been well known as an auctioneer, agent, charity fundraiser, farmer and sportsman and was described in one of the many tributes that poured in as “part of Warwickshire life”.

Two years ago, the firm sold four offices to Connells, but continued to operate highly successfully out of Leamington Spa.

Under the restructuring, James Hawkesdord becomes responsible for commercial property, surveys, valuations and property management. Jon Gregory is director of residential sales and Pauline Carrera-Silver has responsibility for residential lettings.
