Chancellors has relocated its head office from Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, to Bracknell, Berkshire.

Managing director Robert Scott-Lee said: “We are extremely proud of our new office facilities.

“We currently have 47 branches located throughout Oxfordshire and the Home Counties, London and Wales, and will be increasing that number further in 2012 and beyond.”

The move has brought over 100 jobs to the Bracknell area and Chancellors are recruiting proactively for new roles, from sales to administration.

Chancellors has also opened a branch in Bracknell itself, headed by Terry Nice, and is offering 0% commission on its first 200 instructions.

    Chancellors are scam artists and likely to get hit for huge fines for mis-selling utilities through their leases.

    That's a news story.

    Just spotted the comments on our HQ move. A bit late, sorry.

    The move has all gone very well as consolidating from a number of sites into one has greatly improved communication and saved costs. It has also provided more space for central functions. Our proposition is to let branch staff get instructions and do deals, with the admin being covered at HQ. This gives branch staff more time to do what they do well; get instructions and do deals!

    As for the market, there is one everywhere, but you have to go looking for it. It seems instructions are the key to success and our structure gives branch staff more time to focus on proactive activities to secure them. We back this up with our new outbound call team. The number of instructions they generate each day is remarkable!

    Lots of comments about size. We are definitely not a corporate! Shareholder Directors run the business hands-on and we have no outside investors.

    With 48 branches we are big enough to get economies of scale and do exciting things ourselves - like the new web site. We can still move quickly to take advantage of any opportunities. In this regard we have four office location upgrades and eight refurbishments on the go, with three new towns in our sights.

    So as you would expect, we also need good sales and lettings agents to join us!

    I'm glad Cornish Agent seems to agree with me on something, however tenuous.

    My question predicated the latest commentary, issued today, by Nationwide that the downturn in prices and reduction in sales volumes continues (See BBC article). London seems to no longer be immune this.

    Rightmove, on the other hand, seems to be going in quite the opposite direction by substantially increasing its profits just now!

    As times are becoming tougher for estate agents, even in London, and as Chancellors is a particularly successful business centred there and with known connections elsewhere and in high places, I wanted to ask them publicly for some comment on their position and on their proposed strategy going forward, in the light of the present economic situation. Their knowledge could be of great importance to the market.

    To re-state the question: What are Chancellors going to do as a consequence of 'the failing housing market economy' and when will they be announcing their proposals?

    Where better to table such an earnest request than on estateagenttoday?

    @Realising Reality....

    Morning! Indeed i do like to listen to RSL and the Chancellors view but i would ask such questions in a more appropriate setting like for example if the title of the article was " Chancellors view on the housing market" not necessarily when the topic was about an agency expanding and investing in their own operation.

    But on a side point, i do agree with the crux of the questionning, but not here! :-)

    @Cornish Agent
    Well, it seems they are an agency in the forefront of everything, so I thought the question important enough to ask of them myself. Don't you want to know the answer too?

    Agree with Chump & HD, what on earth has a failing house economy and receovery proposals got to do with Chancellors moving their head office? Important question, yes... but not as a comment to an artical which is more of a 'monday morning good news story' than anything else!

    While on the subject, well done Chancellors and RSL for the move... many happy years working for you, pleased to see you're bucking the trend and expanding organically!

    You're right I forgot that, but they are a pretty sizeable multi-office firm nevertheless. I would have thought it's still a fair question and they should have a view, given the extreme 'chatter' currently taking place about the state of the market and especially because they, themselves, are not corporates - no spam.

    You really are lost RR, Chancellors are not a Corpoarte they are far, far better than that. Just once get your facts right perhaps.

    A question.
    What are the corporate estate agents going to do about the failing housing market economy and when will they be announcing their proposals?
