We rather like the sound of the autumn ball and cabaret to be held on Saturday, November 14, in Bournemouth.

If you are an agent in the Hampshire/Dorset area, do support this if you can.

The event is obviously going to be huge fun but is also in aid of a particularly heart-breaking leukaemia charity. Lounge suits are as welcome as dinner jackets.

Prices for the evening are just under £30. We have no idea how the organisers have managed this, given that the entertainment they have laid on sounds fantastic.

Gemma Battersby died last Christmas Eve, aged just 26, after receiving a first-class degree. She had no idea she had the illness, had no symptoms, and was looking forward to starting her first job as a physiotherapist in Poole. Imagine your daughter or girlfriend dying in such circumstances.

Well done to Michael Hack, of Solent Estates, for organising this. We look forward to covering the event with, hopefully, some pictures.
