The parent company of Fine & Country and the Guild of Professional Estate Agents has done a remarkable deal with a public relations firm.

Instead of simply hiring the firm to do its PR, it has formed a joint venture company with it.

GPEA’s partnership with P1 Communications results in the formation of a new company, PI Communications (Property).

P1 Communications’ staff will move into the capacious office in Park Lane, London, which acts as head office for both the Guild and Fine & Country.

Malcolm Lindley, managing director of GPEA, said: “The company has expanded rapidly in recent years and we wanted a more dedicated, hands-on team to help us make more of our success, build the brand and develop our networks further.

“We are delighted to be working with P1 Communications whose international and extensive property experience will be instrumental in promoting our global brand in a professional manner.”

Vicky Goodall, managing director of P1 Communications, said of the deal: "It give us the opportunity to potentially provide P services to the network of 600 Guild agents and 280 Fine & Country offices, in addition to working for head office.

Fine & Country  currently has 200 offices in the UK and a further 78 in Portugal, Cyprus, Guernsey, Jersey, Madeira, Malta, Mauritius, Dubai, Namibia, Qatar, South Africa and West Africa.

Its newest venture is in the USA, where British agent Sean Newman is in charge of its launch.

The Guild of Professional Estate Agents is a marketing network of agents.

Watch out Vicki. Watch your back. You can't trust them. They're not professional enough for any reputable firm to be associated with!

They're image/brand is nice but underneath it's all rotten!

NAEA please note. Now that's the way an estate agents grouping should be run.

I would suggest NFOPP's standards and egocentricities are bad enough thank you!

What is the betting that Vicky won't feel so great about this in a few months' time?

Let us guess that other than a smart address in London she will end up doing a heap of work for nothing, far outweighing the benefit of using a bit of spare London Office Space.

I hope you did your homework and your professional advisors are on the money. If you haven't packed the files into boxes please have one last thought, Who really gains what out of this partnership? Do you really need a London address or is that an ego trip? London is stuffed full of PR companies and you become a single krill! If you got a fat wad out of F&C, fair play to you, go Girl! If you have a good retainer, Ditto. If not ...........!

A test as their first job- spin the silliness with Spicers into a good news story!! Getting beaten by them does a great brand like F&C no credit at all.
