Who does your conveyancing and do they deserve to win an award? Whether they are a big national firm or a small local practice, you have the chance to nominate a conveyancer you would like to see get recognition.

The LFS conveyancing awards have a new category – the best conveyancer to be nominated by an estate agent, which is where EAT readers come in.

Bearing in mind that biggest may not always be best, what is important to agents is to have great service, unrivalled communication and to feel comfortable that both the fee to a client and any referral fee are competitive and justifiable.

So, the winning firm will be the one which receives the most number of votes on a weighted basis. Land Registry figures will be used so that the largest conveyancing firm will need to poll far more votes than a small provincial firm to stand a chance of winning. In other words, a small high street firm of solicitors that works productively for just a few agents will be in with a very good chance.

Nominees of the winning conveyancers will also be invited as guests to the awards dinner this autumn.

If you know of a conveyancing firm which offers top-class service, then do them a favour and nominate them, by June 30, at:

    Thanks Jonnie and as if to prove the point over 100 people have voted today ! There are many awards for estate agents and every year hundreds if not thousands enter and attend the ceremonies. So here is chance to thanks those without whom the market would grind to a halt. As you say, there are good and bad, surely its right to recognise and reward the good, as encouragement to improve the not so good.

    Not only that Lloyds Bank think so as they are sponsoring the main award !

    @hawkeye

    Come on mate, why not, what’s wrong with it?

    EAs and solicitors have to work closely together and a good solicitor will have EAs nail their colours to them and recommend then to clients, we’ve all got stories of the good stuff solicitors we’ve dealt with have done to get a client moved and an equal number of tales of crap solicitors behaving like its 1950 that move slower than my hair grows.

    Plus a profession that has more regulation and red tape than the NAEA could ever dream of presiding over in an industry where margins are so thin should get recognition from its harshest critics shouldn’t it?

    My god - whoever thought of this one should be taken out and shot. What drivel and more to the point who cares. Bet it was a coveyancer who suggested this!
