Auction House is reporting a bumper first half of 2013.

It sold 1,129 lots in the first six months which was more than 20% up on the same period last year, with a success rate of 80.4%, raising nearly £118m in the process, an increase of 42.7%.

Founding director Roger Lake said: “We’re delighted with what are easily the best ever first-half figures for the group – particularly in a property market which continues to present significant challenges.

“The results are testament to the skill of the auctioneers in our 31 auction rooms across the country, as well as our policy of selling properties close to where they are located, in order to secure the best possible price.”

Auction House has also noticed an increase in demand for tenanted residential lots, together with a shift towards more repossessions and receivership lots being sold through regional sale rooms.
