A London estate agent has been instructed on a leasehold car parking space that costs more than a flat they sold last week.
The parking space, in Hyde Park Gardens, is on the market with Kay & Co complete with a 91-year lease and a price tag of £300,000.
Only last week the same firm sold a studio flat about half a mile away for £299,950 – £50 cheaper!
Matthew Abernethy, associate director at Kay & Co, said: “Parking in this part of prime central London is always scarce and the fact that people will pay more than the price of a small flat for the privilege of their own parking space is indicative of the desirability of having parking in Westminster.”

To those with millions this amount of money is not a problem - they will pay for the convenience etc. As many on here say, it will be worth what someone will pay.
P.S. You can't take it with you!
Yes but - if it is a leasehold will the buyer also have to pay ground rent and maintenance fees.
What am I doing here?
Its great if you live to be 120. Personally, I would get a train and a cab rather than sit in traffic burning fuel. Perhaps the car is included though.
Sirs, Please leave him alone, i think he has seen his error.
Good one batman...a huge saving overall
Joker you are a Joker!
Why are they having a laugh? When one sold for a similar price!
If you know you markets this is bargain. Ok £300,000.oo seems a lot for only 91 years. But work out the weekly cost for parking space in Westminster. This space woks out at only £63.40 for a week.
So whose the idiot?
You having a laugh? £300K for a parking space? Come on guys & girls, lets get real here as its making agents look like money hungry idiots trying to flog a parking space at that price no matter where it is. Wonder if it was the agents or the owners idea?
