Network Auctions’ last sale of the year has taken place at Hatfield House with an 85% success rate.

The sale resulted in 17 out of 20 lots fetching a total value of £1.82m.

The auction included lots from 14 counties across the UK.

Five of the lots were snapped up by telephone bidders who were able to watch the auction live via a webcast on Network Auctions’ website, and results were also posted live from the room on Twitter.

Guy Charrison, Network Auctions director and auctioneer, said: “The result was a pleasing one on which to end an excellent year which has seen the number of partner agents we work with increase to 25 across the UK.

“In 2011 we also entered into a partnership with W1 Network Auctions in Scotland and look forward to running a number of auctions in Glasgow in 2012.”

Network Auctions is to move its salesroom from Hatfield House into central London.

OKAAAYYY... I'm gonna do my usual and bang on about auctions!

From the catalogue: 23 Lots - combined quoted prices £2,932,000.

From the results page of NA website: 20 Lots offered; 6 Lots sold prior; 8 sold in the room; 17 Lots sold total. (they don't tell you but three were sold after if you read on through the individual Lots...).

Total value of the 8 sold on the day: £815,000 (against the guide prices of £811,000 - MASSIVE uplift then - so much for creating a flurry of interest that these auctions are supposed to muster up...)

That leaves the other 9 sales - which all state "Sold... for an undisclosed amount". Well - I can tell you that they sold for a combined total of £1,000,700, against their combined guide price of £1,033,000 - LESS than the "give-away" brochure figure which is stated to supposedly stir up competitive bids...

Of course, the REAL question is how much the properties will sell for with nothing but a a lick of paint when the new 'owners' flip them for profit within a month...?

Want to buy cheap? hit the auction houses, no doubt many repos and folk now saddled with a bigger debt than if sold by a good independent agent, ave price less than 108K.
