Auction House says it has become the UK’s number one residential property auctioneer in terms of lots sold.

The latest independent figures from the Essential Information Group indicate that during the first nine months of this year, Auction House sold 1,414 properties at auction, with 1,308 being residential lots. Its nearest rival sold under 1,250 residential lots.

Auction House founding director Roger Lake said: “This is a phenomenal achievement for Auction House. When we entered the arena five years ago, we had no idea that we would reach pole position so quickly.

“Our success is proof that our philosophy of selling properties on a regional basis is flourishing, and is a credit to the hard work of our 27 auction teams around the country.”

The number of lots entered into Auction House sales has increased by 15.2% year on year and it has a success rate of 77.8%.

The brand has seen some important additions to its network in the past nine months. Adding to the success of its London sale room launched last year, branches have now been opened in the big centres of Manchester, Bristol and Cardiff, and in Hertfordshire.

Auction House has also managed to attract some well-established property auctioneers to its ranks. Romans, already one of the country’s leading regional auctioneers, will now be boosting the Auction House performance in Berkshire, north Hampshire, south Buckinghamshire and south Oxfordshire.

Lake added: “Demand in the regions has remained strong, and we haven’t seen the decline that some other national auctioneers seem to be experiencing.

“On top of which, we’re now finding that more commercial lots are being entered through our regional auctions, with encouraging results and impressive prices.”
