Property agents Andrews has had its own management training programme formally recognised by the Chartered Management Institute.

It is the first time an estate and lettings agent has received this accolade.

With six modules, ranging from time management to problem solving to team-building, the programme is aimed at all newly appointed managers, as well as people promoted internally and those expected to progress into management and leadership positions.

To date, more than 200 employees have completed the programme, and in the past year 69% of promotions at Andrews were to management roles.

The training initially involves six full-day monthly sessions, with a follow-up day six months later. It is specifically linked to individuals’ own objectives and existing skills to help them improve their performance effectively.

The programme was developed by Andrews’ training and development manager Ian Yates, with the firm’s nine area managers also influencing course content.

The aim is for the CMI recognition to be converted to full accreditation within 12 months, making it a formal Level 3 Management Qualification.

Yates said: “Continued professional development is an important part of the Andrews ethos, so we’re really pleased to receive CMI recognition – it’s a true kitemark of credibility and quality.”
