Entries for the Estate and Letting Agent of the Year awards have slipped only slightly, say the organisers.

Simon Brown said: “We have had just under 200 agents enter this year. Our total last year was 265, so given the market, we are extremely pleased with the final numbers. I’m certain this secures our position as the biggest awards scheme in the industry.”

The awards are unique in that although agents can register their entries, they have no further input as all the ‘judging’ is done by members of the public who have bought, sold, rented or let through them. Feedback forms are filled in by the public and returned direct to the organisers.

For the first time, the awards have attracted Knight Frank, Martin & Co, and Countrywide.

Voting closed last Friday and the results are now being checked and collated.

The results will be announced at a gala lunch on Wednesday, April 8.

The awards aren't calculated on votes so no point in "voting for me"I,like 100's of others every year, will be paying my £150.00 for a fantastic day out at the ceremony.I do believe these are the only awards that count and I don't think that the other awards hold as much weight as they are not decided purely by the customers.By all means have your opinions but if you had read the article you are commenting on you will have noted that because of the way these awards are decided they cannot be "bought" as some have suggested here. Oh,and I like going to the Theatre,The Pub,Watching Chelsea FC,Going to gigs etc etc etc......and,whist I have a great time doing these things, I have no vested interest in those organisations either.

Last two comments smacks of jealousy. Be interesting to know how many awards their company's won? It is completely irrelevant on the volume of sales. After yall you cannot change your customers view point!

I completely agree with Monkey Tennis. Some of the winners last year were highly suspect. One agent that one a couple of awards only had less than 30 or so properties on their books. It's a shame because they could have actually meant something but instead, they are dodgy.

I am very sceptical about these awards. There is usually a back-hander involved. Best to stay clear.

I can't say I'm surprised that this remains an extremely popular set of awards given the continued excellence in it's organisation and the fantastic awards ceremony.I can't wait as it is a really great day.If you haven't been before you certainly should come along. These are the only industry awards that count in my opinion as they are the only ones voted for by genuine customers.
