AMR, the specialist recruitment group for the property industry, has been joined by four new franchised regional directors.

The new AMR recruits are Graham Green covering London (NE) and  Essex; Warren Gordon covering Home Counties (North); Julie Brumer covering London (SE) & Kent;  and Robin Tossell covering the North-East. Each has had estate agency experience.

Alexis Mead, group managing director, said: “The optimistic start to 2010 in the property sector means that estate agents are now looking to take on new staff, and quality is very much top of the agenda.”

AMR’s move to crank up its operations comes as recruitment agencies face a challenge from two former recruiters who have given up their own agency operations to set up a jobs board which will cut out the ‘middle man’ and allow agents and candidates to contact each other directly.

Ian Dobrin and Sharon Mead-Blandford are launching Property Jobs Direct immediately after the Easter break.

Dobrin said: “There will be significant savings for estate agency employers. We are charging £600 per annum per office to list unlimited numbers of vacancies. To recruit one branch manager at, say £30,000, would typically cost £5,000 if you went through an agency.”

Chris - thank you both for your prompt response - and for your honest reply to what was a bit of a dig at your company. You have painted a much more honest picture of your company than your eager colleague James. In truth, I wish you and your company well - I just have to bite at unsubstantiable claims from small fry who pretend to be big players - and James' post struck me as one of these. It fools no-one - and often has the opposite effect, as you see with me.

Hi PeeBee, thank you for your comments. We are always keen to take on board other peoples opinions as we deem it important in the continual development of our service. We have new clients being added on a daily basis who seem extremely happy with the service and resulting quality of candidates that are applying for their roles. In terms of us not having a ‘stranglehold’ on the market we have had the site in development for some time but have only launched in March of this year, so in a relatively short space of time we have had an extremely positive response. Over the coming months it will become apparent who our clients are. I am not really interested in picking holes in other Job Boards as I believe that what we offer is a differentiated product from that of our competitors and quite clearly from the fact that we have live jobs presently and our competitors do not means we are doing something right.

James - Hmmm... your claims are not backed up by what we see on your website. Poor design - even poorer content. And 'national' coverage that seems to extend as far 'oop north' as the East Midlands! For a company who appear to have been in operation since 2009 you haven't exactly established a stranglehold, have you? Let's see how many of the top 50, that you suggest are currently in the process of putting pen to paper, actually sign up for your services... or perhaps you may wish to name names now?

Interestingly, I work for MyEstateAgentJobs.co.uk so this new job board is not the first to launch. Our service is a lot more competitive in the sense that it only costs £99 to post a job and we have a database of CVs to search for a minimal sum. We also offer numerous branding opportunities as well as offering the opportunity to mail shot regionalised candidate databases. We have many of the top 50 Estate Agents in the process of signing up with us and also we have packages to suit small to medium sized enterprises. Candidates register for free and can mark their details private. It is also powered by the latest job board technology which means that both Candidates and Clients receive added value. Each of our sales consultants has their own region to manage which means that we are able to provide a local service at a national level. James Lawson, www.myestateagentjobs.co.uk

Perhaps AMR need franchisees to do the job for them . I registered and met Alexis and went 5 months without a single interview. Funny how those I did get where using her . Good luck to those franchisees who have invested money .
