Xperience boss Michael Stoop awarded highest RICS honour

Friday 15th February 2013

Industry veteran Michael Stoop, pictured, has been awarded a fellowship of the RICS – the highest honour that can be bestowed on members.

It is given to recognise leaders in their field, and those who have made a special contribution to the profession.

Stoop is managing director of Legal & General Franchising, better known as Xperience, which has 87 estate agency offices trading under the names of Ellis & Co, CJ Hole, Parkers and Whitegates.

Xperience opened 11 new offices last year, with a further ten planned this year.

Stoop, who has been with Legal & General for 20 years, has 37 years’ experience in the estate agency and franchising industry. He has held his current role for 14 years, is a director of the Property Ombudsman Board, a member of the Property Ombudsman Council and a director of the Estate Agency Foundation. He is also a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and a member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.

Also awarded an RICS fellowship is his colleague Steve Goodall, managing director of Legal & General Surveying Services, which recorded its highest level of business in 2012 – more than in 2007, when the market was at its peak.

Goodall also sits on the National Valuation Committees of both the Council of Mortgage Lenders and Building Societies Association.
