There are some estate agents that are simply in the right place at the right time – and Barton Wyatt has it off to a tee.

The independent agents, who compete regularly against the likes of Knight Frank and Savills, are on the Wentworth Estate in Surrey.

Increasingly a target for wealthy foreign buyers, the estate has become something of a global brand in its own right.

James Wyatt, partner of Barton Wyatt, said: “We have suddenly been flooded with affluent buyers. Deals have been struck in recent weeks with clients from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and more recently our first-ever Chinese buyer.

“All were seeking properties with price tags anywhere from £5m to £30m.

“On the rental front we have had an Egyptian looking to rent a Wentworth home with a budget of £100,000 per week, which shows what a specialised market we are dealing with.”

With the BMW PGA Championship fast approaching in May, the firm currently has Retief Goosen’s house on the market, has just sold Dubai winner Thomas Bjorn’s house and has Darren Clarke’s home to let.
